Our Story

Spa Pool Wizard Down Under is the authorised distributor of “Hot Tub Wizard” banded products produced by US based Pool Spa Efficiency, LLC. for both the New Zealand and Australian markets.

Our story begins in 2012 with the purchase of a popular premium Spa Pool. One of the options offered to us at the time of purchase was a “salt water sanitising system”. This system generates chlorine and other anti oxidants using electrolysis, making it easy to keep spa water clear and minimises the use of strong chemicals such as balanced chlorine products.

We were extremely pleased with our new spa pool for the first 6 months, until the salt water system stopped functioning due to a salt cell failure. The supplier replaced the cell under warrantee but cell failure continued again on multiple occasions until such time as we were told next time you will have to pay for a replacement cell. We inquired about the price of this, and were told at that time it would cost $1,800. The thought of having to pay $1800 every six months was enough for us to consider going back to the use of plain old “balanced chlorine” based sanitiser – and we did for six months, until one day we went looking for alternative lower cost salt cell online.

What discovered was an alternative and plug compatible salt water cell being marketed by The Hot Tub Wizard in the USA. Best of all was the price, which landed in NZ at the time was under NZ$500. So we took the plunge and ordered the product, and yes it did what it claimed and worked well for 18 months.

One thing led to another and we were communicating with Lance Fitzsimmons (The Hot Tub Wizard) a number of times with various questions, etc. which then led to a visit from the man himself down here in “little old New Zealand”. At the end of a pleasant beach side seafood lunch, Lance cocked an eye and asked if we would be interested in looking after the sales of his salt water products down under.

So here we are, Spa Pool Wizard Down Under. We stock the replacement SCEPTER salt water cell locally and provide our customers with advice and support with the installation and ongoing maintenance of this cell.
