The MegaChlor-CD has chlorine detection built directly into the cell, meaning that it doesn't need to run on a 3-hour cycle (like the MegaChlor), which could lead to over-chlorination if spa usage drops. The MegaChlor-CD would be on for 45 minutes and then off until more chlorination is needed, whether that would be 1 hour or 6 hours.
