THE SCEPTER is designed to be placed OUTSIDE the filter for optimum performance and life. A plug for the existing filter cap is included.
Experience shows us that as salt cells wear, the controller often indicates a low salt level. When the cell is replaced, the control panel will often say to “call for service” until salt is dissolved and in the 1,500-2,000 PPM range.
It is recommended that with the SCEPTER, water hardness is kept at a minimum of 250 ppm to protect metal parts from corrosion, and extended cell life. Products to increase water hardness can be purchased from your local pool shop. Physical damage to the SCEPTER cell, or excessive calcium build-up is not covered under warranty. All salt cells need regular cleaning, and we recommend cleaning the Scepter by soaking in white vinegar or mild acid solution when scale build-up is noticeable.
The latest version of the Scepter features a slightly narrower yellow end cap. It also ships with a new replacement “gland” to make it easier to route the wiring through the spa body, and to replace older glands that may be leaking.
